Shares in Areva gained 10.05 euros ($14.78), or 1.4%, to 756 euros ($1,111.86 euros), during afternoon trading in Paris. Alstom rose 1.68 euros ($2.47), or 1.1%, to 159.01 euros ($233.89), while in Frankfurt Siemens fell 1.99 euros ($2.93), or 1.8%, to 106 euros ($155.92).

FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Siemens AG has reached an agreement with Balcke-Duerr GmbH Deutschland to acquire the heat-recovery steam generator business of Vienna-based Balcke Duerr Austria GmbH. No financial details were disclosed. Siemens launches new cordless phones with a focus on German quality

The range includes the Siemens Gigaset SL370 (RRP $249) and SL375 (RRP$299), which are the size of a mobile phone. The SL375 includes an integrated answering machine and both models offer Bluetooth functionality, memory for 250 complete addresses including up to three numbers for each contact, an email address and birthday reminder.

TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - Chunghwa Telecom Co Ltd (2412.TW) said its board of directors has decided to sell off all its holding of 75,000 common shares in joint venture Siemens Telecommunication Systems Ltd for a total of 315 mln twd to Nokia Siemens Networks B.V.or its alliance. The disposal is anticipated to contribute 308.81 mln twd of gains, according to a company statement. In today’s trade, Chunghwa Telecom Co closed down 1.70 twd or 2.64 pct at 62.70.
