Dubbed Siemens Gigaset C47oIP, the product is configured for use over Freshtel’s Voicedot network and will be sold through Freshtel’s channel in both Australia and the UK. The product, according to Dean Verberne, Siemens’ SHC general manager Australia and New Zealand, allows users to make VoIP calls without the aid of a computer. ‘њThis alliance is a positive step in helping Siemens gain market share in Asia, a fast-growing cordless home phone market,’ќ he said.

Nokia Siemens locks in new GSM-R deal in China

The company has undertaken five of the total seven GSM-R passenger-dedicated line projects in China that are either under construction or have been put into operation. Nokia Siemens is also the exclusive provider of Chinese GSM-R intelligent network and HLRi systems. The GSM-R core network provided by Nokia Siemens Networks will serve the main railway lines and bear over 50 percent of the wireless communication traffic on China railways.

MADRID, Dec. 11, 2007 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) — Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas SA has acquired US oil waste treatment groups Hydrocarbon Recovery Services Inc. (HRS) and International Petroleum Corp from Siemens (NYSE:SI) Water Tecnologies Corp, a unit of Siemens AG, for 182.5 mln usd. In a statement, FCC said the two US groups will be integrated into its FCC Ambito arm. HRS and International Petroleum operate in 21 states and serve 160 mln residents.

Siemens CEO says company will continue to make acquisitions, sell businesses

MUNICH, Dec. 10, 2007 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) — Siemens (NYSE:SI) AG chief executive Peter Loescher said the company will continue to make acquisitions and sell businesses in the future but added that this would not be the company’s main focus, he told Sueddeutsche Zeitung in an interview. Loescher also reiterated his discontent about Nokia (NYSE:NOK) Siemens Networks, its joint venture with Nokia, as well as Fujitsu Siemens, the company’s joint venture with Fujitsu.
