Nokia Siemens locks in new GSM-R deal in China

The company has undertaken five of the total seven GSM-R passenger-dedicated line projects in China that are either under construction or have been put into operation. Nokia Siemens is also the exclusive provider of Chinese GSM-R intelligent network and HLRi systems. The GSM-R core network provided by Nokia Siemens Networks will serve the main railway lines and bear over 50 percent of the wireless communication traffic on China railways.

To date Nokia Siemens has deployed 20 GSM-R networks in 14 countries serving 50,000km of railways.
