Siemens Rotary Washer in China to Be Exceeded
Posted by on Oct 11, 2008
Since the beginning of 2007, the cost for washing machine production has been going up, boosting many producers to turn their energy from low-end products to high-end ones. As a consequence, the ratio of rotary washer retail value to the retail value of the total washers in the country has reached about 34.37% by far.
The figure was released by the China Household Electrical Appliances Association and the China Household Electric Appliance Research Institute, which added that rotary washer has become a ready source of profits for washer makers. Obviously, competitors are not willing to witness the profits devoured by Siemens alone. Since the beginning of 2008, many domestic and foreign players have been enhancing their investments in rotary washer business.
The washer manufacturing arms under Hair Group, the Chinese home appliance giant, are in deep cooperation with General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) and MBtech for the development of intelligentized low-noise rotary washers. At beginning of 2008, Wuxi Little Swan Company Limited (SZSE: 000418) launched Inov rotary washer, with a 472- millimeter inner drum, which facilitates the washing of coverlets, curtains and eiderdown outwears. It adopts some intelligent technologies like power-off memory.
And consumers can add clothes into the washer when it is working. In the same year, Panasonic rolled out a series of washer dryers with the function of anti-bacterium. By far, the production of rotary washers has accounted for 27.72%, 62.54% and 65.83% of the washer production of Haier, LG and Samsung.
